Rauma Art Museum began operating in the Pinnala house and courtyard in Old Rauma in 1970. The two-story stone museum building is the oldest private stone house in Rauma and was completed in 1795 by merchant Efraim Broman. In addition to temporary exhibitions, the art museum also displays a valuable collection donated by Alfred Kordelin’s nephew, Rauma-born Eino Valtonen (1890–1925). The collection includes gems of Finnish Golden Age art, such as works by Akseli Gallen-Kallela and Elin Danielson-Gambog.

In addition to international and national exhibitions, the museum presents, researches and records Rauma art. The museum’s cozy courtyard with its warehouses and vaulted cellars also offers visitors many other interesting events and exhibitions, including during Lace Week and the Blue Sea Film Festival.
